REQUIREMENTS

Usually you need to push the "F8", "F11", or "F12" key a few times when your computer starts to get to the boot menu.  You need to push these buttons as soon as your computer starts.  It's a small window of opportunity.  If you have a friend who is good with computers ask them to do the following:

Set my boot order to

1.  CD/DVD ROM

2.  USB

3.  Hard drive

If your friend sets the boot menu like this all you need to do is insert the USB stick computer and start your computer like normal.  It should boot to the USB stick computer.

If you don't get to the boot menu the first time you try, don't worry.  It will just start Windows like normal.  You won't damage your Windows computer by doing this.  Restart and try again with a different "F" key.

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW

The USB stick computer DOES NOT affect your Windows computer in anyway.  It completely bypasses your hard drive.

We use high quality Corsair 16 gig USB 3.0 sticks.  They have a rubber coating on them for protection from drops and are water resistant.

The USB stick computer works on Windows desktops and laptops.  It doesn't work on Mac's.  It works with wired ethernet and WI-FI networks.  It doesn't work with wireless cards from AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and other like companies.

You should be able to visit most popular web sites.  There might be some government web sites and work related sites which require the use of a Windows computer with Internet Explorer.  There should be very few sites you can't visit.

It protects your privacy.  It doesn't track your web surfing activity.  If anyone looks at the Firefox history they will see nothing.  It also protects you from unwanted tracking cookies from third parties.

The USB stick computer has limited storage.  It's only four gigabytes.  You can easily get around this by transferring files to other USB storage devices or burning a CD or DVD.  You can also store files on your "C" hard drive too if you are good with files and folders.  It does have an area called places which is the same as "my documents."
